University of Toronto, Ontario Graduate Scholarship 2023-2024
International students are eligible to apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) 2023–2024. Under the scholarship, students may enroll in master's-level courses in any discipline offered by the University of Toronto. The scholarship application deadline is June 1, 2024.
Students enrolling in graduate programs at Canadian universities in the province of Ontario are eligible to apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), which is granted on the basis of merit. The scholarship is given to students who show a high degree of accomplishment in their undergraduate and early graduate studies, with the goal of supporting them in their pursuit of academic excellence.
The Council of Ontario Universities oversees the scholarship program, which is financed by the province of Ontario. Scholarship Benefits:
Each OGS session is valued at $5,000. As a result, recipients may get $10,000 for two straight sessions or $15,000 for three straight sessions. Under all circumstances, the graduate unit that is awarding the prize will pay one-third of the total amount that the students receive.
Every scholarship is valid for a period of one year, or two or three consecutive academic sessions. Each OGS award's length and amount will be specified in the offer letter and decided by the graduate unit that is giving the award.

By the student deadline specified by each graduate unit, OGS Awards are available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected persons under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada); international students enrolled in or intending to enroll in courses at the University of Toronto on a temporary resident visa.

- by the student deadline specified by each graduate unit, be a citizen, permanent resident, or protected person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada); A certain amount of OGS awards are available to overseas students attending or intending to study at the University of Toronto on a temporary residence visa (student study permit); valid study permits must take effect as of the graduate units' OGS international application deadline;
- COVID-19 exception: Applications are welcome from already-enrolled international graduate students who, for COVID-19-related reasons, have not yet been granted a study visa. However, in order to be eligible for the prize, these applicants must have current study permission.
- be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time in a program that qualifies in 2023–2024;
- A full-time program at the University of Toronto lasting two or three terms that culminates in a graduate degree is considered eligible. According to their school, a full-time student is one who enrolls in at least 60% of all courses (or 40% for those with persistent disabilities). Each graduating unit determines its own qualifications for the program. To find out if their program qualifies for the graduate unit's OGS competition, students should carefully read the details provided by the graduate unit in which they plan to register.
- have not gone over the lifetime cap on government funding or the maximum amount of OGS/QEII assistance that is available for their level of study at this time (see Maximum assistance below); and
- Have earned at least an A- (or equivalent) in each of the last two years of study (full-time equivalent); alternatively, if the applicant has completed two or more years of graduate coursework, they need only show that they have completed graduate courses with an overall average of at least an A- (or equivalent).

Note: The most recent undergraduate or graduate marks should be used to assess eligibility if the marks used to calculate an applicant's grade point average (GPA) are unavailable (for example, because courses were assessed on a pass-fail basis).
Qualifications to Receive an OGS Award
To hold an OGS award, recipients must:
- must enroll in and stay enrolled full-time at U of T in a program that qualifies for the graduate unit where the OGS was conferred;
- Those who drop out, go to part-time study, finish their degree requirements before their award expires, or don't finish the entire session will have to pay back the money they were given.
- must maintain a current Ontario Student Assistance Program status (OSAP). Those who have not made timely repayment of a loan overpayment or who have defaulted on a student loan from Ontario or Canada are not eligible to receive the reward. An OSAP limitation does not prevent someone from applying for the OGS. Nevertheless, in order to accept and retain the prize, they must get the limitation lifted within 30 days of notification.
- Accepts research assistantships, part-time teaching jobs, and other paid work that fits the graduate unit regulations and does not interfere with their status as a full-time graduate student. Generally speaking, University of Toronto students who have a full-time job are not qualified to acquire an OGS, and
- cannot receive funding from SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR, QEII-GSST, or another OGS within the same session (overlapping) or award year.
